RAMADAN 2006 The 29th Day

An Ayat

Say: 'It would not matter if you were rock or iron or indeed any created thing that you think is harder still!' They will say, 'Who will bring us back again?' Say: 'He who brought you into being in the first place.' They will shake their heads at you and ask, 'When will it happen?' Say: 'It may well be that it is very near.'

(Surat- Al-Isra':50 - 51)

A Hadith

"Narrated Abû Hurairah : Allah's Messenger said, 'Allah looks not at your figures, nor at your outward appearance but He looks at your hearts and deeds.'""

(Muslim)

ADVICE FROM OUR PROPHET (SAAS) REGARDING FASTING, BROTHERHOOD AND PROPER MORAL VALUES DURING RAMADAN

Why Is Despair Not An Approved State?

Despair is unthinkable for a person who is aware of the fact that Allah is the creator of every being and every event, and who measures the power of Allah by its true measure. Because Allah is the One Who removes difficulties for His servants, is most forgiving, is full of mercy and has complete power and knowledge. Every incident that people may regard as a reason for despair, including all impediments, unexpected obstacles, diseases, accidents or mistakes, in fact occurs under the complete control of Allah. Allah is All-Knowing and nothing is absent from His knowledge. Being aware that one's destiny is designated by His endless knowledge is the greatest comfort one can ever have. Knowing this fact, one can never give way to despair.
Besides this, believers, knowing that it is possible that their mistakes may be remitted in this world, do not lose hope. Indeed, people are commanded in the Qur'an not to despair of the mercy of Allah:

Do not despair of solace from Allah. No one despairs of solace from Allah except for those who disbelieve. (Surah Yusuf: 87)

Say: "My servants, you who have transgressed against yourselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Truly Allah forgives all wrong actions. He is the Ever-Forgiving, the Most Merciful." (Surat az-Zumar: 53)

Is Being Sentimental Approved Of In The Qur'an?

Being sentimental is not approved of in the Qur'an, although being a man of "wisdom" is essential. Allah bestows intelligence and understanding upon those who heed Him. Believers who possess wisdom consider all events within the framework of absolute truths specified in the Qur'an. They make appropriate decisions acting in the light of their reason and conscience, thereby easily resolving all matters, whereas sentimentality plays a significant role in confounding one's understanding. If one approaches events emotionally instead of using reason, the ability to discriminate between right and wrong becomes impaired. One's decision-making and judgments can no longer be relied upon to be impartial or just. Since one attributes importance to what other people think, one cannot make quick and appropriate decisions. Evaluations made in an emotional state would be based on personal value judgements instead of the criteria of the Qur'an.

  EXAMPLES TO LIVING FOSSILS:

ADULT STONE FLY

Age: 156 to 150 million years old

Size: body: 3.3 centimeters (1.3 in); matrix: 7.6 centimeters (3 in) by 10 centimeters (4 in)

Location: Beipiao, Liaoning Province

Formation: Jiufotang Formation

Period: Upper Jurassic

The adult stone fly has a flat body. It generally lives under stones, and fishermen use it as bait.

Like all other insects, stone flies exhibit the same characteristics and systems they had at the moment they first appeared. Fossils reveal that stone flies have not gone through any intermediate stages. Stone flies that lived 156 to 150 million years ago are the same as those stone flies living today.

BIRD

Age: 140 million years old

Size: Matrix: 16 cm x 17 cm

Location: Yixian Formation, Sihetun, Shangyuan, Beipiao City, Liaoning, China

Period: Late Jurassic, Lower Cretaceous

Various fossil birds found in China are among the evidence showing that birds have always been birds and that they did not evolve from any other creature. Darwinists claim that birds evolved from reptiles, but they lack any evidence to prove this claim. All fossil specimens gathered over the past 150 years show that evolutionists' claims are entirely groundless. The 140-million-year-old fossil bird pictured once again proves this fact.

  THE NAMES OF ALLAH:

AD-DAFT

The Remover Of Tribulations

And with Allah's permission, they routed them. Dawud killed Goliath, and Allah gave him kingship and wisdom and taught him whatever He willed. If it were not for Allah's driving some people back by means of others, Earth would have been corrupted. But Allah shows favor to all the worlds. (Surat al-Baqara, 2:251)

Allah, Who protects believers against all material and spiritual dangers, also grants them irrefutable power against all unbelievers, hypocrites, and idolaters. While unbelievers plan and plot, Allah moves against them. Driving their harm away, He makes the plotters suffer the consequences of their own plots.

Meanwhile, Allah divides unbelievers, makes them fight each another, and thereby causes them to lose their strength. Furthermore, He keeps those who hate Muslims apart from them and afflicts them with many disasters. The Qur'an relates this divine protection for believers, as follows:

Those who were expelled from their homes without any right, merely for saying: 'Our Lord is Allah.' If Allah had not driven some people back by means of others, monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, where Allah's name is mentioned much, would have been pulled down and destroyed. Allah will certainly help those who help Him… (Surat al-Hajj, 22:40)

This aside, only Allah can repel all varieties of difficulty, disease, misgiving, Satan's promptings to evil, and many other disasters from believers. No doubt, each one of these represents Allah's overt and hidden help to humanity. He is very compassionate toward His servants, to those who take refuge in Him and seek His help and forgiveness.

  THE EVOLUTION DECEIT:

Who Established the Hierarchical Order in the Genes?

Certain genes have the ability to control others. For example, some 'control' genes halt the gene that manufactures haemoglobin during childhood. This fact requires careful reflection. Since genes are made up of molecules, how did these molecules set up such an organization among themselves? How can a molecule decide to halt a human being's growth and to transmit that decision to others, and how do those other molecules understand that signal and act upon it? From whom did those disciplined orders originate?

Moreover, trillions of genes have been flawlessly performing these functions with the same discipline, obedience, reason and apparent intent for millions of years. To claim that such an immaculate system came into being by chance is utterly nonsensical.

The Human Eyeball Is More Complex and Efficient Than the Most Advanced Camera

With its 40 basic components, the human eye provides a better image and clarity than even the most advanced digital camera. In order for the eye to be able to see at all, every one of these 40 components need to be fully functional at the same time, able to work together in harmony. If even one of these components is absent, the eye is effectively blind. In the same way that a workable camera cannot emerge in stages as its component parts are assembled haphazardly, neither can the eye have formed in stages and as the result of chance mutations.

THE SIGNS LEADING TO FAITH :

Spider Silk Is Stronger Than Steel 2

One main reason why spiders are able to produce such strong silk is that they manage to add assisting compounds with a regular structure by controlling the crystallization and folding of the basic protein compounds. Since the weaving material consists of liquid crystal, spiders expend a minimum of energy while doing this.

The thread produced by spiders is much stronger than the known natural or synthetic fibers. But the thread they produce cannot be collected and used directly, as can the silks of many other insects. For that reason, the only current alternative is artificial production.

Researchers are engaged in wide-ranging studies on how spiders produce their silk. Dr. Fritz Vollrath, a zoologist at the university of Aarhus in Denmark, studied the garden spider Araneus diadematus and succeeded in uncovering a large part of the process. He found that spiders harden their silk by acidifying it. In particular, he examined the duct through which the silk passes before exiting the spider's body. Before entering the duct, the silk consists of liquid proteins. In the duct, specialized cells apparently draw water away from the silk proteins. Hydrogen atoms taken from the water are pumped into another part of the duct, creating an acid bath. As the silk proteins make contact with the acid, they fold and form bridges with one another, hardening the silk, which is "stronger and more elastic than Kevlar [. . .] the strongest man-made fiber," as Vollrath puts it.

Kevlar, a reinforcing material used in bulletproof vests and tires, and made through advanced technology, is the strongest manmade synthetic. Yet spider thread possesses properties that are far superior to Kevlar. As well as its being very strong, spider silk can also be re-processed and re-used by the spider who spun it.
If scientists manage to replicate the internal processes taking place inside the spider—if protein folding can be made flawless and the weaving material's genetic information added, then it will be possible to industrially produce silk-based threads with a great many special properties. It is therefore thought that if the spider thread weaving process can be understood, the level of success in the manufacture of man-made materials will be improved.

This thread, which scientists are only now joining forces to investigate, has been produced flawlessly by spiders for at least 380 million years. ( 'How Spiders Make Their Silk', Discover, vol. 19, no. 10, October 1998.) This, no doubt, is one of the proofs of God's perfect creation. Neither is there any doubt that all of these extraordinary phenomena are under His control, taking place by His will. As one verse states, 'There is no creature He does not hold by the forelock' (Qur'an, 11: 56).

The Mechanism for Producing Spider Thread Is Superior to Any Textile Machine

Spiders produce silks with different characteristics for different purposes. Diatematus, for instance, can use its silk glands to produce seven different types of silk—similar to production techniques employed in modern textile machines. Yet those machines' enormous size can't be compared with the spider's few cubic millimeters silk-producing organ. Another superior feature of its silk is the way that the spider can recycle it, able to produce new thread by consuming its damaged web.

  BOOK OF THE DAY:

The Signs of Jesus' (pbuh) Second Coming

The great event that will be a means of humanity's salvation is the second coming of Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him). His return to Earth, a belief held by both Christians and Muslims, will end this world's all-pervasive cruelty and injustice and transform it into a place of peace, abundance, and justice.

According to the Qur'an, approximately 2,000 years ago God thwarted the unbelievers' plots to murder Prophet Jesus (pbuh) by raising him up to Himself. The Qur'an and the related hadiths (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (may God bless him and grant him peace) tell us that he will come back to Earth again in the End Times, the times preceding the Day of Judgment.

In this book, we will examine the signs of Prophet Jesus' (pbuh) second coming from the Islamic sources and how the signs that they provide have come true one by one. People witnessing these signs may, by God's will, hope that his return is close.
